History of KTM Motorcycles
KTM Motorcycles is one of the biggest names in racing, with this Austrian manufacturer tracing back to the early 1900s. In 1934 Hans Trunkenpolz opened a repair shop he called, Kraftfahrzeug Trunkenpolz Mattighofen, and here, he drew up plans for his first motorcycle, called the R100, which became street-ready and in production by 1953.
From this humble beginning, they continued to grow and expand, and by the end of the 1960s, KTM bikes were being used in American racing events, later opening a manufacturing facility in Ohio to keep up with American demand for their off-road motorcycles. With a restructuring of their business model, their motorcycle division became known as KTM Sportmotorcycle GmbH (soon to be renamed KTM Sportmotorcycle AG), and they refocused more heavily on racing.
The focus paid off, and over the past two decades, KTM has collected dozens of world titles, and has also been a manufacturing trailblazer. They were the first to offer a street-legal dirt bike and grew that to include a popular EXC lineup. G-Force Powersports carries several models of the EXC line, both in our new inventory and in our used. Their next move in the racing world looks to be an electric-powered off-road bike, which, as soon as it comes out, we will be excited to add to the G-Force Powersports inventory.
What Sets KTM Apart from the Competition?
KTM stands out from the competition for many reasons. While off-road enthusiasts may be drawn to their signature, bright orange color, it just takes one ride to realize that KTM is more than just a pretty face. They offer an astonishing variety of off-road bikes for Motocross, Cross Country, and Enduro racing, providing speed, power, and quality at every level. Their reputation spans the globe, and that's what has made them one of the top-selling off-road motorcycle manufacturers for the past several years.
KTM motorcycles give racers an edge on the track and a great ride off the track. That's why owners stay loyal to this top-selling brand, and that's why G-Force Powersports is proud to be one of the top sellers in the Southwest. For racers looking to get started in racing or upgrade, we have a KTM motorcycle that will perform beyond your expectations. We also have parts on hand and a dedicated service team to keep your KTM running in peak condition.
